Moa Malan; Actress:
Nicolas Pettersson directed me and co-acted along with me in his movie “Farmer”. He is a very calm, focused and dedicated film maker with lots of energy. His shoots are well prepared and structured, he knows what he wants and still he has the capability to take in his co-workers opinions and ideas. There is a great feeling of companionship and friendship in his film teams, he chooses only to work with the once he feel are as dedicated as him and that can bring more to his films. He knows how to make long hours of shooting fly away and make it feel like so much more then just work. I really loved working with Nicolas and would do so anytime again. I would strongly recommend him as a co-worker, director, screenwriter, actor and a good friend.

I’ve had Nicolas as director and co-actor in his film productions ”Last heart ” and ”Farmer ”. Working with Nicolas is a pleasure since he with his calm, focus and warm personality has the ability to make the cast feel relaxed and joyous, and as a result also bring the best performance out of them. It's a clear spring day. In fact; it's so clear that you find it hard to even imagine something like clouds every cluttering it up. So on this day, you're over at a friends house. As you leave to go out he picks up an umbrella. And then hands you one. He says it's going to start raining and that you should take one too. You look at the clear sky. And then at the umbrella. The clear sky. The Umbrella. Sky. Umbrella. You come to the conclusion that your friend is crazy and you tell him you don't need it. He says he'll bring it along anyway. You let him, since... well; what ever floats his boat right? A couple of hours later, as you're out walking; lo and behold it actually starts raining! You look at your friend and awaits the smartass comment that is sure to follow his handing over of the umbrella. Except it doesn't come. He just hands it to you without saying a word. In fact the thought of doing so doesn't even cross his mind. This hypothetical scenario sums up what it's like working with Nicolas. He's the nicest, funniest and humblest guy you can imagine. He always comes prepared. And he's always right! And as annoying a quality as that last one might seem, it actually isn't in him. Because he'll never mention it. And that's why you know its true, right? I mean, it's not like someone who's funny has to go around telling people that he's funny. He just makes 'em laugh. And that's Nicolas for you, right there; he'll make you laugh as he hands you an umbrella.

Jenny Willyalm, Actress:
I have as an actor during the filming of a couple of humour sketches got to work with Nicolas. It has been a rewarding cooperation as Nicolas as a writer, director and cinematographer has given me clear directions, got me to develop and see sides and possibilities within myself as an actor which I have not seen before. Nicolas knew how to improvise a lot, he was flexible, and got all actors to feel companionship to be able to work well together. Nicolas had clear goals and visions, interesting ideas which he presented in a easy understandable way. As Nicolas always has acted with greatest care, kindness and listened as much to me as an actor as to his ideas, I can warmly recommend him.

I worked together with Nicolas Pettersson Xuan Vinter in the production “Undercurrents” which he directed. As a director Nicolas is very artistic, clear and purposeful. The filming of “Undercurrents” was well planned, professional and had a very high level of ambition. It was both rewarding and fun to work with such a dedicated and positive person that Nicolas is.

I was a student together with Nicolas at “Stockholm elementera teaterskola” 2007/2008. We also worked together after school both in “Merchant of Venice” and  “The caretaker”. Seldom I’ve had a artistic leader with such spiritual focus on his work, always in time and prepared, and at the same time so humble and positive who always chooses to see possibilities and not limitations. The best with Nicolas is that he is very concrete with his visions in the art and but still let’s the actors be as free as possible in their own creation process. He is a good colleage and leader whom I felt safe in trusting. He is also a fantastic actor well worth watching in both theatre and film. Socially Nicolas is a role model. He has the ability to establish a connection with humans in all situations. I hope to get to work with him again. A energy-giving and warmhearted person who loves humans. I worked with Nicolas in Harold Pinter’s work “The caretaker”.  Nicolas was both a director and an actor in the production och managed both parts excellent. As a director Nicolas was wellstudied, wellprepared, calm, harmony-creating in his contact with the actors and had a good ability to let me find my character at the same time as he had a clear vision in his directing. As an actor Nicolas most of all has that important quality; good feeling of rhytmh, which made the interconnection turn interestingly, he also showed great ability of concentration and presence.

During a film project in 2012, I had the pleasure of doing a voiceover with Nicolas Xuan Vinter. The work itself was very soulful and definitely not a run of the mill assignment, so it could have been complicated. Thanks to Nicolas’s easy approach and professionalism, we nailed it in under an hour (which is a bit of a record for me) I found it especially nice that he was so well prepared and knew exactly what he wanted, being that accurate is a very unique quality in production work. I am also sure that any project he is involved in will run smoothly, because he seems to be very organized and no nonsense, two qualities I appreciated in anyone creative. I have been present at Nicolas’s film productions and have seen his ability to lead a team. He is an empathetic and fun person who gets the group to get along into a nice atmosphere.
